  • Seattle Public Schools are not fully funded. The McClure Middle School PTSA annual fundraising events bridge the gap to directly support and sustain critical educational programs and staffing resources, to benefit all McClure students.

    Our PTSA is committed to helping students become their best selves and reach their full social, emotional, and academic potential by engaging and supporting families, teachers, and school leadership.

  • Funds raised by the PTSA are used to provide essential resources (e.g. classroom supplies, professional development, and guest speakers) that free up McClure’s discretionary funds. This allows school administrators to increase teacher headcount and student supports.

    The goal of fundraising is to enhance the school experience by supporting curriculum enrichment, student engagement initiatives, and teacher morale.

    The PTSA also coordinates and FUNds field trips, the PRIDE Store, Field Day, in-school dances,  the 8th Grade Promotion Celebration - and more.

    Beyond the classroom, the PTSA fosters a strong sense of community by organizing family-friendly events and supporting programs for families in need. 

    A few specific examples of how we are utilizing PTSA Funds to benefit our students and staff:

    • Cafeteria Audio System: The PTSA funded a new sound system completed in early 2024 to support assemblies, performances, and community events.

    • Curriculum Enhancement, Classroom Support, and Student Engagement: The largest category of the PTSA budget directly supports teachers in enhancing classroom learning and promoting student engagement.

    • Teacher Stipends: this year we doubled Teacher Stipends to help teachers fund more for their classrooms and not have to use their own money.

    • Increased School Clubs Budget

    • McClure Cares: The PTSA supports our students, families, and community in stressful economic times with food support and school supplies.
